How To Measure Percent Defective In Garments Industry?

Definition of Defect:

Defect is the defect of the product due to which the quality of the product is reduced or the product is rejected. When a product has more defects, it is called Worse Quality product. And when there is less defect in the product then it is called Better Quality product.

In the case of garments, defects are those defects due to which the garments fail to meet the quality standards of the buyer. Simply put, the defect is the non-conformance or defect of the garments due to which the end customer does not accept the product. For example, Broken Stitch, Brocken Button, Hole, Stain, Spot, Brocken Seam, etc. are some of the common defects of garments.

Defect এর সংজ্ঞা:

Defect হচ্ছে পণ্যের ত্রুটি যার কারণে পণ্যটির গুণগত মান কমে যায় বা পণ্যটি Reject হয়ে যায়। যখন কোন পণ্যে Defect (ত্রুটি) বেশি থাকে তখন তাকে Worse Quality পণ্য বলে। আর যখন পণ্যে Defect (ত্রুটি) কম থাকে তখন তাকে Better Quality পণ্য বলে।

গার্মেন্টসের ক্ষেত্রে  Defect হচ্ছে সেই সকল ত্রুটি যার কারণে গার্মেন্টসটি বায়ারের কোয়ালিটি স্ট্যান্ডার্ড পূরণ করতে ব্যর্থ হয়। আরেকটু সহজভাবে বলতে গেলে Defect হচ্ছে গার্মেন্টসের সেই সকল non-conformance বা ত্রুটি যা কারণে ক্রেতা (end customer) পণ্যটি গ্রহণ করে না। যেমন, Broken Stitch, Brocken Button, Hole, Stain, Spot, Brocken Seam ইত্যাদি হচ্ছে গার্মেন্টসের কিছু Common Defects.

Definition of Defective:

Defective is the product that is found defective in all products. In a word, Defective is a product with Defect.

Percent Defective (%)

Percent Defective is the total number of defects found in every 100 pieces of garments checked. The formula for determining the Percent Defective is-

Percent Defective (%) = (Total Number of Defective Pieces 100) / Total Pieces Checked

A sample of Quality Inspection Check sheet Format

Example:
Total Pieces Checked = 800 Pieces.
Total Defective Pieces = 60
So, according to Percent Defective,
Percent Defective (%) = (60 × 100) / 800 = 7.5

That means Percent Defective 7.5% of that line.

উদাহরণ:
Total Pieces Checked = 800 পিস।
Total Defective Pieces = 60 টি।
তাহলে, Percent Defective এর সূত্রানুসারে,
Percent Defective (%) = (60 × 100)/800 = 7.5

অর্থাৎ ঐ লাইনের Percent Defective 7.5%.
